About Us

Esme Blake Care Services is a specialist complex care provider delivering high-quality care and support to children, young people and adults in their own homes.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Recruitment & HR Assistant to join our growing team. This is a varied role, combining recruitment, compliance, HR administration and general office support. You will play an important role in ensuring we recruit the right people, maintain high standards of compliance and provide effective day-to-day HR support to our workforce.

The Role

Reporting to both the Director of Recruitment and Compliance and the HR & Payroll Manager, you will work closely with the management team to support the recruitment, onboarding, compliance and ongoing administration of our care workforce.

You will also provide general HR administration support, helping to ensure that our people processes are organised, accurate and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

Support the end-to-end recruitment process for care staff.
Advertise vacancies and assist with candidate attraction and shortlisting.
Organise and coordinate interviews.
Communicate with applicants throughout the recruitment process.
Obtain, check and maintain required recruitment documentation.
Request, chase and verify references from current and previous employers.
Support the DBS checking process and ensure all required pre-employment checks are completed.
Assist with the onboarding and induction of new employees.
Ensure safe and suitable recruitment standards are maintained.

Compliance & Training

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee compliance records.
Monitor staff compliance with mandatory training and annual refreshers.
Book and coordinate required training and ensure attendance is recorded.
Support the management team in maintaining standards in line with CQC, HSE and company policies.
Assist with monitoring compliance deadlines and proactively follow up outstanding requirements.
Ensure accurate records are maintained across the company’s digital systems.

HR Administration

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR function.
Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files.
Assist with the preparation of HR documentation, letters and correspondence.
Support the administration of new starters, changes to employment and leavers.
Assist with probation reviews, staff supervisions and other employee lifecycle processes.
Support with absence and sickness administration, including maintaining accurate records.
Assist with the administration of annual leave, staff changes and other HR-related queries.
Support the HR Manager with HR projects, audits, reporting and general HR administration.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.

Communication & General Administration

Answer and respond to incoming telephone calls, emails and enquiries.
Liaise professionally with staff, clients, families, commissioners, social workers and other professionals where required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to understand and support business needs.
Maintain accurate and well-organised records across digital systems.
Provide general administrative support to the wider management team as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, professional and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in recruitment, HR administration, compliance or a similar role.
Experience working in a healthcare or care setting is desirable.
A minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, clients, families and professionals.
The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.
A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
