THIS IS A MATERNITY COVER POSITION (12 MONTH CONTRACT)

We are seeking a talented, proactive and commercially minded purchasing administrator to order relevant material & parts against budget and against the bill of materials (BOM). To assist Shawpak with scheduling and reporting requirements ensuring that orders, costs and dates are inputted on to relevant systems and managed in accordance with the production schedule.
COMPETENCIES
- A good level of numeracy and literacy, educated to GCSE level C or above, or equivalent
- Good IT skills to encompass Microsoft Office and Outlook
- A competent knowledge of manufacturing methods
- Able to work as part of a team and off own initiative
- Good knowledge of accounting, finance and quality systems
- Effective communication skills at all levels whether verbal, face to face and/or written
- Demonstrate a professional, empathetic and logical attitude towards customers
- Ability to follow instructions and prioritise time to work productively to meet tight deadlines
- Have a positive attitude with adaptability to support business requirement
MAIN TASKS
- To generate and control a preferred suppliers and sub-contractors list ensuring cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with the Machine Shop with regards to Production Planning.
- Offer creative and practical solution to technical and logistical problems.
- Purchase machine components and materials in conjunction with the BOM ensuring cost efficiency and all relevant documentation is completed accurately.
- Build new stock forecasts and update customer forecasts.
- Monitor supplier lead times and performance.
- To produce performance related reports based on actual vs planned production performance.
- To take ownership of planning requirements.
- To liaise with suppliers regarding forecasts, deliveries, order enquiries and any other issues.
- To progress customer orders and highlight any requirements to relevant departments.
- To follow and adhere to the Company’s hygiene and quality standards at all times (GMP)
- To comply with all legal requirements in respect of Health and Safety of self and others.
- To demonstrate good employee relations within the team and to other departments.
- Agree personal appraisal targets with Supervisor/Manager.
- Work towards the utilisation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques in line with Company objectives to support the continuous improvement of the Company.
