Deputy Care Home Manager

Broadstreet House, near Folkestone
£35,000 per annum | 40 hours | On-call required

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to support the leadership of our 18-bed learning disability service.

This is a hands-on, senior role requiring someone who can confidently manage staff, maintain care quality, and take operational lead in the absence of the Registered Manager. It is not a step-up role for those without prior supervisory responsibility.

Broadstreet House is a long-established residential home set in a Grade II listed building near Lyminge, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Role expectations (please read before applying)

Take day-to-day operational responsibility when required
Participate in an on-call rota
Lead on audits, care quality, and CQC readiness
Manage staff performance, including appraisals, supervisions and formal processes
Work flexibly, including hands-on shifts where needed
Support registered manager to:

o Recruit suitable residents when required

o Ensure residents physical and emotional needs are met and their safety is in line with current safeguarding regulations

o PCP’s are in place, up to date, are person cantered and promote their individual rights

o Development of processes and policies that support and are up to date with CQC regulations and demands

o Liaise with families, care managers and local community to maximise the support of the people using the service.

o Liaise and manage external service providers as required

o Fee negotiation with local authorities as required

Support in staff recruitment and training as required

Essential requirements (applications not meeting these will not be considered)

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a care management, senior/support worker or supervisory role in adult social care
Direct experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health
Proven ability in staff supervision, rota management, and care planning
Confident making operational decisions and leading shifts
We are not able to consider candidates without relevant UK care experience
Good communication skills
Numerically astute and excellent writing skills

Desirable

NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
Experience with CQC inspections, audits, or action plans
Spreadsheet knowledge
Full UK driving licence
