Supply chain Stock controller At JR site working Monday to Friday 5 day service, Working Closely with Clinical staff and other member of the supply chain team.
The post holder will support the Stock Management Change Programme to transfer all stock locations onto the Trust Inventory Management System.
They will support the ongoing, effective management and control of stock across all departments through structured cycle counting, stock accuracy monitoring, and replenishment activities.
The post holder will ensure accurate inventory records, support delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide operational cover for absence in the Supply Chain Team to maintain continuity of service.
The Operational team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital requires a Supply chain stock coordinator.
Conduct scheduled cycle counts across all clinical and Non-Clinical departments in line with agreed counting programmes.
Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies in collaboration with ward/department staff and Supply Chain colleagues.
Ensure stock levels are accurate within inventory management systems.
Escalate significant variances or stock risks to the Supply Chain Supervisor.
Assist in identifying obsolete, slow-moving, or excess stock .
Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines for the Inventory Management system
Follow tasks as detailed by the Line Manager and Operating Procedures.

2. Inventory Accuracy & Systems
Ensure all stock counts are uploaded into the Inventory Management System promptly and accurately.
Ensure accurate records of adjustments, discrepancies, and stock movements are captured in the Inventory Management System.
Ensure compliance with Trust policies relating to stock control and audit.
3. Inventory Management Systems Implementation support
- Support the Stock Management Change Programme to transfer all stock locations onto the Trust Inventory Management System .
- Support the Site Supply Chain Supervisor in extending the Materials Management and the Inventory Management system throughout the Trust.
4. KPI Support
Contribute to delivery of departmental KPIs including (but not limited to):
Stock accuracy targets
Waste reduction
Stock value reduction
Service level compliance
5. Operational Support & Cover
Provide operational cover during Supply Chain Team absences, these tasks include but are not limited to:
Ensuring deliveries received on site are efficiently checked, processed and internally distributed same day to the relevant depts.
Ensuring that wards/department storage areas and systems are maintained to the satisfaction of Supply Chain Management and Ward Sisters/Department Managers whilst ensuring good Inventory/Materials Management principals are maintained.
Ordering items by means of electronic bar code reader, downloaded to Inventory Management (IM) System or NHSSC.
Expedite orders as necessary, receive stock and put away, ensuring good stock control principals are adhered to.
Undertake manual handling duties, including pushing and pulling metal cages and lifting heavy items, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
