Full job description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic student accommodation team as a Security Concierge on weekends, where your energetic presence and vigilant eye will ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all residents and visitors. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact, providing exceptional security services while maintaining a lively and positive atmosphere. Your proactive approach to surveillance, loss prevention, and emergency response will help foster a secure community where students can thrive confidently. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your security skills in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

Duties

Greet residents, visitors, and contractors with enthusiasm, verifying access and providing directions as needed
Conduct regular patrols of common areas, entrances, and exterior grounds to deter theft and ensure safety protocols are followed
Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including administering basic first aid when necessary
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and access records to support ongoing safety efforts
Assist with loss prevention strategies by observing and reporting any unusual or unauthorized activity
Collaborate with emergency responders during incidents, ensuring swift communication and effective resolution

Qualifications

Previous experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
Ability to perform basic first aid procedures confidently in emergency situations
Strong observational skills with an eye for detail to identify potential security risks
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, staff, and visitors
Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts
A proactive attitude with a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment

You must hold a valid SIA Licence. All candidates are screened to BS7858
