ABOUT US
We are proud to announce the official CQC registration of our brand-new, state-of-the-art flagship provision: Hebburn Day Care & Respite Services. Custom-built to bridge the gap in specialist local care, Hebburn House offers an unparalleled, dignified "home-away-from-home" experience for young adults with complex physical, learning, challenging and sensory needs.
Our world-class facilities feature a fully accessible hydrotherapy pool, a rebound therapy suite, immersive sensory rooms, an adapted independent living training kitchen, and a luxury cinema room. Following our successful registration, we are now seeking an exceptional care leader to join us as our Registered Manager.
THE ROLE
As the Registered Manager, you will hold the legal CQC registration for Hebburn House. This role is perfectly structured for a high-level manager: while our bustling specialist Day Centre is already managed and run daily by an on-site Service Manager, your role will be to take the operational lead on launching and managing our brand-new Overnight Respite Wing, whilst maintaining legal accountability and quality oversight across the entire location.
You will ensure flawless compliance across both provisions, working strategically with the Day Centre Service Manager and work alongside multi-disciplinary health professionals (including Physiotherapists, Dietitians, and SLTs) to maintain an 'Outstanding' standard of care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Legal Accountability & CQC Governance
- Act as the legally Registered Manager with the CQC for the entire Hebburn House site, ensuring both the Respite Wing and Day Centre continuously exceed the Fundamental Standards of Care.
- Lead the service confidently through CQC inspections under the single assessment framework.
- Maintain absolute clinical governance across the site, including robust medication systems (MAR charts), strict infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols, and up-to-date risk management templates.
2. Respite Wing Operational Management
- Take direct operational responsibility for the brand-new overnight respite wing, ensuring a premium, safe, and welcoming short-break experience for young adults.
- Manage respite scheduling, occupancy levels, waking watch rotas, and the on-call framework.
- Direct the respite support team and night staff, ensuring exceptional care from evening admission through to morning discharge.
3. Strategic Oversight of the Day Centre
- Provide high-level quality assurance and leadership support to the on-site Day Centre Service Manager, who handles the daily activities, staffing, and operational running of the day service.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure seamless transitions for clients moving between the day provision and overnight respite.
- Ensure Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks and care pathways are unified and followed seamlessly across the entire building.
4. Stakeholder & Pipeline Management
- Build and protect excellent professional relationships with local authority commissioners, adult social care transition teams, and NHS Foundation Trusts to drive respite referrals.
- Conduct robust initial holistic assessments for new respite clients, working closely with parents and family carers to establish trusted care goals.
ABOUT YOU (REQUIREMENTS)Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent/fully achieved).
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or a highly experienced Deputy Manager within a CQC-regulated residential or respite setting.
- Deep working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (including DoLS), and current CQC Single Assessment Framework regulations.
- Extensive background in supporting individuals with complex physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), or complex sensory needs.
- High literacy and tech skills, with experience utilizing digital care platforms to audit care plans and monitor compliance.
Personal Attributes:
- A collaborative leader who knows how to support and oversee an on-site manager without micromanaging daily operations.
- Excellent communication skills, building swift rapport with families who rely on short-break respite.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to clinical governance and safety.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary with performance-focused bonuses.
