About us:
We are a small family run business specialising in the manufacture and installation of high quallity window blinds. We have a srong focus on customer service and take pride in providing excellent reliable products and maintaining our reputation.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our team. This is a varied role that has a focus on hands on manufacturing, but also includes customer facing elements. As a small family run business other responsibilities will need to be picked up as and when necessary. The successful candidate will assist in assembling blinds in our workshop while also handling phone enquiries and booking appointments for measures and installations. While initially this role is part time, there is potential to increase to fulltime for the right candidate. The role is Weds-Fri however there is a degree of flexibility here and there if the business workload allows.

Responsibilities

Assembling and preparing window blinds in the workshop
Cutting, measuring and fitting components according to specifications
Answering incoming phone calls and responding to queries
Interacting with customers in the showroom when required.
Booking appointments for site visits, measurements and installations
Maintaining an organised and tidy workspace
Assisting with other general day-to-day requirements of the business when necessary
Operating basic machinery or equipment following training and safety protocols
Assisting with inventory management, including stock replenishment and stocktaking
Reporting any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly

Experience

Good attention to detail and practical skills
Friendly and professional telephone and face to face manner
Basic computer skills for booking appointments
Ability to work independently and also part of a small team.
Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods

Desirable but not essential

Previous experience in a similar operative or manual role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
Experience in customer service.

This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking practical experience in a busy operational setting.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
