Salary: £17,500 per annum (based on £35,000 full-time equivalent)
Contract: PAYE employment contract. Permanent or initial 12-month fixed-term contract.
Hours: 15 hours per week/0.5 FTE. Ideally worked across three days per week, the exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate. Concrete Youth is committed to shaping this role realistically around the contracted hours. The postholder will work with the Chief Executive & Artistic Director to agree priorities, plan activity in advance and focus on the areas of work that will have the greatest impact. During busier campaign or press periods, priorities may shift, and any additional hours will be agreed in advance.
Annual Leave: Pro-rata annual leave entitlement, equivalent to 14 days per year for this part-time role, plus any additional statutory/public holiday entitlement as applicable and pro rata
Location: Remote, with occasional attendance required for meetings, productions, education sessions, press opportunities, launches and key events.

Reports to: Chief Executive & Artistic Director
Works closely with: Education Department, Touring Department, Producers, Creative Team, venues, schools, care settings, libraries, museums, local authorities, press contacts, PR consultants and partner organisations.
Probation period: This role will be subject to a three-month probation period. During this time, there will be regular check-ins with the Chief Executive & Artistic Director to support the postholder, review priorities and ensure the role is working well within the contracted hours. The successful candidate will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance.

Purpose of the role
The Marketing & Bookings Manager will support the growth, visibility and reach of Concrete Youth’s touring and education departments.
This is a hands-on, part-time role focused on marketing, press and PR coordination, education enquiries, quotes, bookings and partner communications. The postholder will help more schools, care settings, venues, cultural organisations and communities understand, access and book Concrete Youth’s work.
A core priority of the role will be supporting the education booking journey, from first enquiry through to confirmed booking. The role will also support agreed marketing and press activity for touring productions, education programmes and key organisational moments.
Key responsibilities
Education enquiries, quotes and bookings
The Marketing & Bookings Manager will support the journey from first contact to confirmed education booking.
They will:
- Respond to education enquiries from schools, SEND settings, care homes, local authorities, libraries, museums, community organisations and other potential partners.
- Speak confidently about Concrete Youth’s education offer, including workshops, sensory stories, sensory drama activity, public programmes and bespoke projects.
- Understand what each potential booker needs and guide them towards the most suitable offer.
- Prepare clear and professional quotes.
- Follow up on enquiries and quotes to support confirmed bookings.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients.
- Coordinate booking information, including dates, times, locations, participant information, access requirements and key contacts.
- Issue and track booking forms.
- Liaise with the education team to ensure bookings are appropriate, well-planned and deliverable.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotes, confirmed bookings and future opportunities.
- Support repeat bookings and longer-term relationships with schools, care settings and partner organisations.
Marketing
The postholder will coordinate and deliver agreed marketing activity across Concrete Youth’s touring productions, education programmes and wider organisational work.
They will:
- Support marketing campaigns for touring productions, education programmes, public activity and key organisational moments.
- Write clear and engaging copy for websites, newsletters, social media, venue listings, brochures, partner communications and email campaigns.
- Coordinate marketing assets, including images, video, flyers, digital packs and accessible information.
- Liaise with marketing suppliers (printing companies, graphic design agencies, web development team etc) to facilitate Concrete Youth’s digital and print output.
- Support venues and partners with the information they need to promote Concrete Youth’s work effectively.
- Help ensure Concrete Youth’s public communications are accessible, warm, professional and consistent.
- Support the communication of Concrete Youth’s impact to audiences, partners, funders and stakeholders.
- Track marketing activity and use learning to improve future campaigns.
Press and PR
The postholder will support and coordinate press and PR activity across Concrete Youth’s productions, education programmes, partnerships and major announcements.
They will:
- Help identify press and PR opportunities for Concrete Youth’s work.
- Draft and coordinate press releases, media alerts, press invites, listings, case studies and briefing materials.
- Maintain and update press contact lists.
- Support relationships with journalists, reviewers, broadcasters, PR consultants, venues and partner press teams.
- Coordinate press activity around production announcements, launches, press performances, production images, trailers and review opportunities.
- Gather quotes, images, biographies and project information for press materials.
- Support with interview preparation and key messages for press opportunities.
- Monitor press coverage and keep a record of reviews, features, interviews, listings and media mentions.
- Ensure all press and PR activity represents audiences labelled with profound and multiple learning disabilities with dignity, care and accuracy.
- For larger campaigns or high-profile announcements, the postholder may work alongside external PR support where appropriate.
Touring productions
The Marketing & Bookings Manager will support marketing, press and audience development activity for Concrete Youth’s touring productions.
They will:
- Support marketing activity for touring productions.
- Work with venues and partners to support ticket sales, local audience development and accessible communications.
- Prepare copy for venue listings, newsletters, websites, press materials, social media and partner communications.
- Coordinate production assets, including images, trailers, rehearsal content, cast and creative team information, access information and audience guidance.
- Support production announcements, on-sale moments, press performances, launch activity and post-show storytelling.
- Help venues understand the production, the target audience, access requirements and the most appropriate way to communicate the work.
- Ensure touring marketing is clear, accessible, high-quality and emotionally engaging.
Partnerships and relationship building
The role will support strong, thoughtful and lasting relationships with partners and potential bookers.
The postholder will:
- Build positive relationships with schools, care settings, venues, libraries, museums, local authorities, arts organisations, disability organisations and community partners.
- Identify new organisations that may be interested in Concrete Youth’s touring or education work.
- Support warm, consistent and professional communication with existing partners.
- Help partners understand the care, access and practical requirements of Concrete Youth’s work.
- Represent Concrete Youth in selected meetings, networking opportunities and sector conversations.
- Contribute to a growing network of partners who understand, value and regularly engage with Concrete Youth’s work.
Systems and reporting
The Marketing & Bookings Manager will help keep marketing, press and booking activity organised and effective.
They will:
- Maintain clear records of enquiries, quotes, bookings, campaign activity, press coverage and partner contacts.
- Keep contact lists and press lists up to date.
- Provide regular updates to the Chief Executive & Artistic Director.
- Report on marketing activity, press activity, enquiries, bookings and partner engagement.
- Identify common questions, barriers or opportunities arising from enquiries and partner conversations.
- Suggest improvements to booking processes, marketing materials and public communications.
- Reporting will be proportionate to the part-time nature of the role and focused on useful, practical information.
Working pattern and workload
This is a part-time role, and priorities will be agreed carefully so the workload is realistic within 15 hours per week. The postholder will usually work within their agreed working pattern, and we are committed to protecting the part-time nature of the role. From time to time, they may be asked to work outside normal working hours for activity such as press nights, evening events, launches, performances or partner meetings. Any additional hours will be agreed in advance and compensated through time off in lieu.

- Responding to education enquiries and following up on quotes.
- Preparing or updating marketing copy.
- Coordinating social media, email or website activity.
- Supporting press or PR opportunities.
- Updating contact lists, booking records and campaign notes.
- Meeting briefly with the Chief Executive & Artistic Director to discuss ongoing campaigns.
During busier periods, such as production launches, press moments or major announcements, priorities may temporarily shift towards campaign and press activity. During quieter periods, the focus will return to education enquiries, bookings and partner development.
Person specification
Essential experience and skills
We are looking for someone who can bring:
- Experience in arts marketing, cultural communications, audience development, education marketing, bookings, producing, press, PR, community engagement or a related role.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Confidence speaking to schools, care settings, venues, partners, press contacts and potential bookers by phone, email and video call.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage enquiries, follow-ups, campaign deadlines and press timelines.
- A warm, professional and values-led communication style.
- Experience using social media, email marketing or digital communications to reach audiences or partners.
- Confidence using spreadsheets, databases, Google Workspace or similar systems.
- An understanding of how to communicate specialist work clearly and accessibly.
- A genuine commitment to inclusion, access and the cultural rights of disabled people.
Desirable experience and skills
It would be useful, but not essential, for the postholder to have:
- Experience working with schools, SEND settings, care settings or local authorities.

- An understanding of sensory theatre, inclusive arts, disability arts or work with people labelled with profound and multiple learning disabilities, or a genuine curiosity and interest in this work.
