This is an exciting opportunity for two new Learning Support Assistants to be part of a friendly, talented team who are dedicated to improving outcomes for children in a school with a friendly and supportive ethos. We are able to offer you the opportunity to work with an exciting and enthusiastic school of children as well as a staff team who are both supportive and eager for challenge, determined to raise our children’s outcomes on every level.

In this role, you will work under the direction of class teachers to provide vital teaching and learning support to pupils. You will play a key part in raising standards of pupil achievement, maintaining a positive classroom ethos and fostering an environment where children can develop into independent learners. Whether you are working with individuals, leading small groups or occasionally managing whole-class activities like story time, your energy and initiative will directly move our children's learning forward.

KeyResponsibilities:

Provide an appropriate level of support to pupils in individual, small group and whole class situations to promote independent learning.
Assist the class teacher with the planning, monitoring and assessment cycle by recording observations on pupil achievements and difficulties.
Deliver guided reading sessions, story time, show and tell and pre-planned intervention programmes to move children's learning forward.
Build positive relationships with pupils, anticipating potential difficulties and finding or creating appropriate resources to support their learning.
Work with individual or groups of children towards specific targets identified in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Support the wider school community by undertaking playground supervision and assisting during assemblies, outings and extracurricular activities.
Take active responsibility for your own continuing professional development through self-evaluation, reflection, peer support and attending INSET days.
