An opportunity has arisen for an Injection Moulding Technician Supervisor to join the team at Linton Plastic Moulders based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage your shift, setting machines to ensure the smooth running of the production process and that all products are produced to the stated specifications. Responsible for targets and deadlines to enable order deadlines to be met. To ensure that all employees comply with the company’s Health and Safety procedures.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
PRODUCTION/QA:
- Take full responsibility of your shift, in terms of supervision of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes.
- Take responsibility of the quality of the products that are produced within your shift, this will be in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.
- Manage, develop and motivate employees.
- Monitor measure and report on production related process performance, general issues.
- Ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
- Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shifts and all matters relating to this, are dealt with, using the resources within the company, in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
- Use problem solving and troubling shooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes set out by the Quality data pack for each product.
- Work closely with the other shift setter to ensure production handovers are effectively communicated.
- Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.
- Have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
- All employees are responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs.
- Be able to make appropriate decisions whilst following the companies’ organisational structure.
MACHINE SETTING:
- Set the moulding machines in line with LPM Job Cards from start to despatch
- Must be able to carry out tool trials without guidance from any setting sheets
- Ensure that good housekeeping is always maintained.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience with the implementation of ISO9001-2015
- Minimum 3 years working in a manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or within an equivalent capacity. Ideally from a plastics background.
- Must be able to set and trouble shoot injection moulding machines to a very high standard.
- Knowledge of air & hydraulic cores.
- Able to use hot runner controllers.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Knowledge of plastic materials.
- Knowledge of insert changing and understanding toolmaking and component drawings

SALARY:
Dependent on skills, aptitude and experience level
HOURS:
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working on a 2-week shift rota:
WEEK 1: 06:00AM – 2:30PM / WEEK 2: 9:30PM – 06.00PM (30 MINUTE LUNCH)
