Full job description

Hampton Castle is a historic, 600-year-old castle featuring extensive grounds, gardens, and diverse buildings. We operate two premium brands on-site: a popular garden visitor attraction and a high-end castle wedding venue.

We are looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee all on-site maintenance and development projects and ensure the estate is maintained to the highest standard. The successful candidate must be able to oversee complex projects and manage external contractors, but their true happy place is "on the tools” actively fixing, building, and maintaining the estate to a high standard, whether working solo or in a team.

What you’ll be doing

Responsibility – Take overall responsibility for maintenance jobs and projects across the estate.
Hands-On – Independently carry out high-quality carpentry, decorating and general repairs.
Contractors – Oversee our relationships with specialist contractors, ensuring their work always meets the high standards expected of a premium venue.
Projects – Work closely with our Gardens team and subcontractors to deliver larger development projects across the estate.
Tracking – Work in partnership with our Office Manager to log, track, and efficiently close out all jobs and projects within our bespoke maintenance system.

What you’ll need

Multi-trade, including some carpentry, painting and decorating, and basic plumbing skills.
Experience in a management role, either as a Foreman, Project Manager or Contract Manager.
Solid IT skills to update and manage records in our Maintenance system.
Strong organisational skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
Trustworthy and detail-oriented, with consistently high standards of work.

Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week, including some weekend days
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
Location: Hampton Castle, Herefordshire
