Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Internal Sales Executive to join our Builders Merchants team. This role involves engaging with trade customers, managing sales enquiries, and providing exceptional service to foster long-term relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of building materials, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their sales expertise within the construction industry.

Duties

Handle inbound sales enquiries from trade customers via phone, email, and in person.
Promote and sell building materials and related products, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently.
Negotiate prices and terms with clients to secure sales agreements that benefit both parties.
Maintain accurate records of sales transactions and customer interactions using IT systems.
Provide expert advice on product specifications, availability, and suitable alternatives.
Build and sustain strong relationships with existing clients whilst actively seeking new business opportunities.
Provide great customer service on the Trade counter when dealing with customers and face-to-face sales.
Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Assist in stock management and organise product displays within the branch.
Support the wider sales team with administrative tasks as required, including order processing and follow-ups.

Requirements

Proven experience in B2B sales or internal sales within builders merchants or similar sectors.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence purchasing decisions effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Good IT literacy, including familiarity with CRM systems, MS Office suite, and online ordering platforms.
Valid driving licence is preferred for visiting clients or suppliers when necessary.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Strong time management skills to meet sales targets and deadlines consistently.
Customer service-oriented mindset with a professional approach to client interactions. This role offers a dynamic working environment where your sales expertise will directly contribute to business growth while providing valuable support to our trade customers. Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
