Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient food production
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and optimal customer satisfaction
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of culinary professionals
Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations in a hospitality setting
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in culinary skills and service delivery
Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations is required
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
