Full job description

Part-Time Finance Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Finance Manager to support our growing group of businesseses, including a logistics and fulfilment operation, freight company and SaaS software business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with business owners and taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing compliance requirements and providing clear financial reporting to support business decisions.

The role is office-based for one day per week, with flexibility around working hours.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate accounting records using Xero
Complete weekly bank reconciliations across multiple businesses
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Manage accounts payable and supplier payments
Monitor accounts receivable and assist with credit control
Prepare monthly management reports
Maintain and update cashflow forecasts
Assist with budgeting and financial planning
Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement
Liaise with external accountants where required
Ensure Companies House and statutory filing requirements are maintained
Support directors with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis

Requirements

Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Bookkeeper or similar role
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience preparing VAT returns
Excellent bank reconciliation and bookkeeping skills
Experience producing management accounts and cashflow forecasts
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes
Excellent communication skills

Hours & Pay

Approximately 8 hours per week
Office-based in Langham, Colchester
Flexible working arrangements available

Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
