YOUTH CHARITY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Youth Charity Development Manager to help grow our network of youth clubs, sports clubs and community organisations while developing exciting opportunities and programmes for young people across Lancashire.
Hours: 30 hours per week
(Flexible working with a minimum of 3 evenings per week and occasional weekends)
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 pro rata (depending on experience and qualifications)
(30 hours per week = approximately £22,400 - £24,000 actual salary)
We are open to considering more or fewer hours for the right candidate.
Contract: 3-year fixed term (with potential extension subject to funding and organisational growth)
Holiday: 24 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)
Pension: 3% employer contribution (optional)
Base: Lancaster office with travel across Lancashire and the North West

Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs (LABGC) is a long-established independent youth charity supporting voluntary youth clubs, sports clubs and community organisations across Lancashire.
Through our network of affiliated organisations, we help create positive opportunities and experiences for hundreds of young people every week. Our work includes youth leadership, environmental action, sports development, volunteering, personal development programmes, residential experiences and community engagement initiatives.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to help strengthen our membership network, develop innovative programmes and create new opportunities for young people across Lancashire.
ROLE PURPOSE
This is a varied and rewarding role combining charity development, programme management, partnership building and youth engagement.
The Charity Development & Programmes Manager will play a key role in helping LABGC grow and strengthen its network of affiliated clubs and organisations while developing engaging opportunities for young people throughout Lancashire.
The postholder will support membership growth, coordinate county-wide activities and events, develop partnerships, strengthen club engagement and help shape the future direction of LABGC programmes.
The role will also oversee the administration and coordination of county sports competitions, including the Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs County Boxing Championships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership & Club Development
- Act as the primary contact for affiliated clubs and member organisations.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase membership across Lancashire.
- Build strong relationships with existing member clubs through regular communication and visits.
- Support clubs with development opportunities, funding signposting and organisational support.
- Promote the benefits of LABGC membership and improve retention and engagement.
- Maintain accurate membership records and monitoring systems.
Programme Development & Coordination
- Design, develop and coordinate a diverse programme of youth activities and opportunities.
- Develop initiatives that promote leadership, volunteering, personal development, wellbeing, environmental action and community engagement.
- Coordinate county-wide competitions, events, workshops and residential opportunities.
- Support the delivery and growth of existing LABGC programmes.
- Identify emerging needs and develop innovative responses for young people and member organisations.
- Evaluate programme effectiveness and continuously improve delivery.
Sports Development & Events
- Coordinate and administer county sports competitions and events.
- Lead the administration and organisation of the Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs County Boxing Championships.
- Liaise with boxing clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers and event partners.
- Support wider sports development opportunities across the LABGC network.
Partnerships & Engagement
- Develop positive working relationships with schools, local authorities, youth organisations, sports organisations and VCFSE partners.
- Represent LABGC at meetings, forums, events and partnership networks.
- Promote LABGC programmes, services and opportunities through digital and traditional communication channels.
- Support the development of new partnerships that strengthen opportunities for young people.
Monitoring, Reporting & Funding Support
- Maintain accurate participation, membership and outcome data.
- Monitor performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
- Produce reports for the Director, Trustees, funders and stakeholders.
- Collect case studies, evidence and impact information.
- Support funding applications and monitoring returns where required.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding remains central to all activities and programme delivery.
- Follow all LABGC policies and procedures including safeguarding, health and safety and equality policies.
- Maintain relevant training and professional development.
General Responsibilities
- Contribute positively to the wider development of LABGC.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
Appointment is subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references.

EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience working with young people, community organisations or voluntary groups.
- Experience developing, coordinating or delivering programmes, projects or events.
- Experience building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience working independently and managing multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Experience within the charity, youth work, community development or sports development sectors.
- Experience supporting membership organisations or networks.
- Experience of funding applications, monitoring or impact reporting.
- Experience coordinating competitions, tournaments or large events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable
- Qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Education, Sports Development or a related field.
- Safeguarding qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- D1 on driving licence (or equivalent)
