Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to various destinations while ensuring a high standard of customer service. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while on the road.

Duties

Safely operate a bus or van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.
Maintain a clean and well-organised vehicle, conducting regular inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any delays.
Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, especially those with mobility challenges.
Keep accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that occur during transit.
Collaborate with dispatchers to optimise routes and ensure timely deliveries.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a valid bus or van driver’s licence.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle unexpected situations calmly.
Previous experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential.
A commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring passenger satisfaction.
