Teknek was founded over 41 years ago in the UK, designing and producing specialised equipment which removes particle contamination from a wide range of materials used in modern manufacturing. Teknek invented the contact cleaning concept and its technology is used in a range of industries from PCB production to flat panel manufacture, kitchen furniture, medical products, printing and packaging, to automotive electronics.
This is an onsite role, based in our modern manufacturing facility, based just behind Glasgow Airport. The location offers good access to major transport links.
The Role
You will support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day purchasing needs and scheduling of materials to help keep the production department running smoothly. The role involves working closely with suppliers and internal teams to make sure the right materials arrive on time, while helping to identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and the overall flow of materials through the business.

Key responsibilities:
- Raising and managing purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and resolve delays
- Monitoring supplier performance and overdue orders
- Working closely with operations supervisors to ensure materials are available when needed
- Supporting cost analysis, supplier quotes and sourcing
- Develop strong relationships with existing suppliers and work together to improve sustainability across the supply chain
- Helping identify new suppliers or alternative materials
- Supporting improvements to material flow and supplier performance
- Co-ordinate with Customer Experience manager to communicate in advance any issues that could impact on our customer delivery expectations
- Coordinate with Design and Engineering Team to source alternative materials when required
- Proactively supporting the smooth flow of materials through the supply chain, helping prevent shortages, delays, and disruption to production
Key Skills:
- Around 2–3 years’ experience in purchasing, materials planning or supply chain
- Or can demonstrate equivalent
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Naturally Organised
- Enjoys Planning
- Confident communicator in relationship building with suppliers and colleagues
- Self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Strong Microsoft skills
- Including excel and word
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using MRP / ERP systems
- Understanding of KANBAN or Vendor Managed Inventory
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Driving licence an advantage but not essential
- Passport an advantage but not essential
