Head Chef – Shed Grill & Seafood | Belfast City Centre

Shed Grill & Seafood is a busy, high-quality steakhouse in the heart of Belfast City Centre, part of the Shed Group — a hospitality brand with over 8 years in the industry. Shed Grill & Seafood itself opened in September 2025 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. We're now looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen as we continue to grow. With a strong summer ahead and Christmas already shaping up to be exceptionally busy, this is a great time to come on board and make the role your own.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll run the day-to-day operation of a busy kitchen, working closely with our Executive Chef to maintain and elevate the standard our guests expect. We want someone who takes ownership — of the team, the food, and the operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

Day-to-day management and leadership of the kitchen team
Stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
Due diligence, food safety compliance, and maintaining hygiene standards
Rota management and kitchen organisation
Collaborating with the Executive Chef on menu development — we're open to your ideas
Maintaining food quality and consistency across every service

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef
Strong knowledge of a steakhouse or grill-focused kitchen (seafood experience a plus)
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A calm, professional approach under pressure
High standards around punctuality and work ethic — you set the tone for your team
Someone who leads by example and takes pride in their kitchen
