Full job description

We are one of the leading food manufacturers supplying frozen meals to the nursery sector. Based in Coventry we have a new opportunity for a Food Production Chef to join our team producing our regular meals range.

Flexibility is required.

Shift: 07:00 hrs to 15.00 hrs

Mon to Fri

The rate of pay £13.50 per hour

Person specification:

· A excellent knowledge and understanding of food allergens and the production of meals in a food production environment.

· A good work ethos, and a flexible working approach to tasks and hours

· High manual dexterity as portioning weighing and assembling of products and machinery is required

· Ability to lift weights up to 25k. Some lifting/bending involved.

· Good attention to detail and communication skills

· Good numeracy and literacy skills

· The ability to manage their own time effectively to achieve daily tasks and targets within a small team

· Experience working in a food manufacturing environment to a high level.

· You are a team player and offer ways in which you think areas can improve

· You are calm under pressure, quick to spot your own mistakes, learn and be meticulous at keeping clean

· To be a quick learner and excel in on the job learning

Essential: Previous chef and kitchen experience in a food manufacturing environment and a strong knowledge of food allergens.

Experience of working with large cooking equipment such as Boilers, Combi-ovens, Brat Pans, and Mixers.

The successful applicant will Report directly to the Production Manager.
