Kitchen Manager / Experienced Cook

Good Taste Bakery – Frimley Green, Surrey

£33,000–£35,000 per annum

Starting salary £33,000, rising to £35,000 following successful completion of a three-month probationary period.

At Good Taste Bakery, you'll finish work at 3:00pm every day, work just 35 hours a week, enjoy no evening shifts, no split shifts, and benefit from a fair rotating weekend schedule giving you regular Saturdays and Sundays off.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy a genuine work-life balance while leading a busy, successful daytime café kitchen.

We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen in our popular Frimley Green café, producing high-quality breakfasts, brunches and lunches in a friendly, well-organised environment.

We're also keen to hear from experienced cooks who are ready to take the next step into their first management role.

Good Taste Bakery is a successful independent bakery and café business with eight locations across Surrey and Hampshire.

We're proud of our reputation for quality food, great coffee and friendly customer service. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for talented people who want to grow with us.

The Role

As Kitchen Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, working alongside one assistant cook and ensuring every dish is produced to consistently high standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and serving our breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.
Running the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Maintaining recipe consistency and portion control.
Managing stock ordering and rotation.
Monitoring food costs and reducing waste.
Maintaining excellent food quality and presentation.
Ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
Managing HACCP and food safety compliance.
Guiding, supporting and training your assistant cook.
Working closely with the Café Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has previous experience in a busy commercial kitchen.
Holds a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable).
Is organised, reliable and takes pride in producing consistently excellent food.
Is comfortable taking full ownership of a kitchen with one other cook.
Understands stock control and food cost management.
Leads by example and enjoys working as part of a small, hands-on team.
Wants to build a long-term career with a growing independent business.

What We Offer
