Pool Duty Supervisor

Join our team as Pool Duty Supervisor at our open-air Shaftesbury Lido, a treasured local facility offering a busy summer schedule.

Hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview.

Hourly rate

Hourly rate is dependent on age

21 and over £14 per hour
18 to 20 £13.22 per hour

Your Role

Deliver a professional service to all users of the facility and display a high level of consistent customer service.
Professional communication standards through telephone and email correspondence.
Operational responsibility for all aspects of the facility including health & safety, safeguarding and customer experience management.
Oversee lifeguards while on shift, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Day to day operation management, including payments, bookings and active management of activity sessions. To include the responsibility of full daily open up and closing down of the Lido including cashing up at the end of each day.
Ensure all Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) are followed and if required Emergency Action Plans (EAP) are actioned.
Undertake pool plant and lifeguard duties as required.
Upkeep and development of the opening and closing checklists, and daily and weekly task sheets.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Lido safeguarding policies and procedures, in particular with regard to the recruitment and retention of staff.
Help maintain a motivated and happy team of lifeguards.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

Excellent customer service skills.
NPLQ qualification from a recognised organisation.
A flexible, team-focused attitude.

Desirable

Experience in pool operations or team management.
First aid, or pool plant qualifications.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

Due to the nature of the job, applicants need to be 18 or over.

About Shaftesbury Lido

Shaftesbury Town Council took over the management of the pool in 2016 and has invested in refurbishment works over the past few years to ensure the viability of this much-treasured community asset. It is the only open-air swimming pool in Dorset and is open for everyone to enjoy. Today, the pool provides residents with a great place to learn to swim, as well as a range of activities, including Parent & Toddler, Aqua Fit, and Naked Swimming in the Summer and Cold Water Swimming in the Winter.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £14.00 per hour
