Combe Grove is a centre for advanced health and wellbeing in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath with a focus on evidence-based practices and long-term lifestyle change. We welcome guests from across the UK and internationally to experience our retreats, wellness stays, treatments, movement programmes and educational events.

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Welcome Team Host to join our friendly team.

The Role

The Welcome Team Host is responsible for overseeing all aspects of client and member reception within the Stone Room — the central hub for arrivals, departures, enquiries, and information.

As part of our Welcome Team within the Operations Team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our clients’ experience, from arrival to departure, is exceptional, restorative, and aligned with our wellbeing values.

Our Welcome Team are the first and last point of contact for every guest and member. The team plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless, warm, and memorable experience that reflects Combe Grove’s ethos of care, calm, and connection.

As a Welcome Team Host, you play an essential role in creating an atmosphere where every guest feels recognised, valued, and at ease from the moment they arrive at Combe Grove.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the Welcome Desk is consistently staffed, welcoming, and professionally presented on Sundays and have flexibility to cover on weekdays
Foster a calm, professional, and positive atmosphere within the team, reflecting Combe Grove’s wellbeing ethos.
Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
Manage guest check-ins and check outs efficiently and accurately.
Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest enquiries promptly.
Handle reservations and booking amendments using the company’s reservation system.
Provide information about accommodation, wellness retreats, classes, treatments, dining and local attractions.
Maintain an organised, clean and inviting reception area.
Resolve guest concerns calmly and professionally, escalating issues when appropriate.
Assist with administrative tasks.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Previous experience in reception, customer service, hospitality, or hotel front desk.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Confident using computer systems and booking software.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering exceptional customer service.
Good numerical skills for payment processing.
Flexible approach to working weekends, holidays, and shifts.
