Full job description

We’re after pro-active bar staff who a ‘can-do’ attitude and a love for hospitality to join our team as Bar Staff for the upcoming Cambridge Folk Festival on 1st-2nd August 2026.

This will be a busy and fast paced event so previous bar and / or event bar experience is essential!

Event
Cambridge Folk Festival, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge

Dates
Saturday 1st August & Sunday 2nd August 2026

Hours
Shifts are pre-allocated to you and you will be given your rota before the event. You will be working both days.

Rate
£13.25 per hour

Responsibilities
As Bar Staff your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to;

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for customers
Greet and interact with customers, take orders and service drinks
Proactively promote and explain the bar menu and drinks on offer
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the bar area and back of house
Operate Challenge 25 and make sure all customers are legally entitled to purchase an alcoholic drink
Maintain a register of refusals in compliance with Challenge 25 and the event licence
Keep bar organised, stocked and clean
Cash handling / use of handheld PDQs

Requirements:

Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
Must be at least 18 years of age
