Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team and maintain high standards of cleanliness across our classrooms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic, tidy, and presentable, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for children, staff and visitors alike. Previous experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right applicant. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within an early years setting where attention to detail and reliability are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in designated areas
Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces
Use cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently and safely
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
Adhere to company policies regarding cleaning procedures and standards

Requirements

Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is advantageous
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Reliable with a good work ethic and punctuality
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting and prolonged standing
Flexibility to work during scheduled hours; punctuality is essential
