At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
About the Role:
Due to continued growth, the College is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced College Lecturer in Land-based Service Engineering or an experienced Land-based Service Engineering /technician (Agricultural Service Engineer/technician), or an individual with related engineering machinery interests to join our expanding team delivering the Case New Holland (CNH) Level 2 and 3 Land Based Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Programme.
In this role you will be working within our team of engineering lecturers to provide both practical and theoretical instruction in the workshops and classroom.
The role provides a wide range of opportunities for either:
The experienced college lecturer already delivering to Land based Engineering Students within a college who is looking for a change and opportunity to develop new learning.
Or
The experienced Land-based Service Engineering individual to pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation of Land- based Service Engineers.
Or
The enthusiastic, capable but less experienced individual a chance to develop knowledge and skills backed by the world-famous Case New Holland (CNH) machinery manufacturer.
In each case you must have a fundamental interest, background knowledge in agricultural and or other service engineering workshop activities i.e. vehicles, plant, horticultural machinery, welding and fabrication repairs.
The Role:
The individual will become part of the team and will support the delivery by:
Developing their own specialist subject delivery for level 2 and level 3 apprentices in preparation for End Point Assessments.
The preparation, delivery and supervision of “live work” student projects. These include tractor and machinery repairs, servicing work and overhauls.
Work as part of the team with general workshop operations such as tool and equipment storage, maintenance and health and safety compliance in line with industry standards.
Transporting apprentices (Minibus driving) and attending CNH technical training courses with the apprentices at various stages through the course.
Be prepared to undertake technical, educational and personal development courses including the opportunity to develop teacher training courses.
You will be involved in developing the programme, liaising with employers, partnering with the training centre at Basildon, and making site visits across the UK.
Close collaboration with colleagues in the College Further Education teams will also be necessary.
If you have an interest in servicing and repairing agricultural machinery, working with the latest high-tech equipment, if you enjoy working with young adults and are eager to learn new technical subjects and teaching methods, this is your opportunity!
You'll hold as such as agricultural machinery, vehicles or plant machinery, horticultural machinery, and welding or fabrication repairs.
You will hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at Level 2, along with a vocational qualification at NVQ Level 4 or equivalent. Ideally, you will also have an endorsed teaching qualification or be willing to commence teacher training within one year of employment.
