Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at Gosberton House Care Home. This is a full time, permenant role, 37.5 hours a week, preferably day shift but can accomodate night shifts. The ideal candidate will have had experience working as a nurse in a care home setting, provide exceptional patient care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while demonstrating a thorough understanding of anatomy and nursing practices. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for side effects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients.
Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and preventative care strategies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all care provided in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns, providing emotional support as necessary.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Proven experience in a care home setting is essential for qualified nurses.
Trained in PEG/RIG feeding, Manual Evacuation, Enemas, Wound Care, Tracheostomy Care.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of nursing practice.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards of practice.
