Overview

We at Heywood Engineering Services Ltd are seeking a skilled Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team, providing essential maintenance and installation services for residential properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, practical experience with gas systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.

The successful candidate will carry out a range of domestic gas works to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring full compliance with current gas safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Install, service, and repair domestic gas appliances such as boilers, cookers, and central heating systems
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with current regulations and standards
Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and techniques
Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all operations
Engage in heavy lifting tasks where necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed

Skills

Proven experience with welding, plumbing, and assembly work in a domestic setting
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised mechanical equipment
Strong mechanical knowledge of domestic gas systems and appliances
Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and adjustments
Capable of heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or maintenance tasks
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good organisational skills to manage multiple jobs effectively

Requirements

Current ACS qualifications.
Valid Gas Safe Registration.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

Experience working on social housing contracts.
Unvented hot water qualification.

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
