Full job description

Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join us at our Luton store. The store is located in a prime position within The Mall and will be one of the largest of our 23 stores. We are looking for a candidate experienced in fashion retail who will support the Store General Manager to motivate and encourage the team to give our customers the best possible shopping experience while achieving store objectives. This role requires leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for retail management.

Responsibilities

Help to lead and motivate the store team to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and staff scheduling.
Supervise and train staff to ensure high standards of service and adherence to company policies.
Maintain an organised and visually appealing store environment that reflects the brand's image.
Communicate effectively with team members, providing feedback and support to foster professional development.
Handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing, reporting, and stock control.

The role will be working 39 hours over 5 days per week, with the following shift pattern:

Monday 8.00am to 6.00pm

Tuesday Day Off

Wednesday 8.00am to 6.00pm

Thursday 8.00am to 3.30pm

Friday 8.00am - 3.00pm

Saturday Day Off

Sunday 10.00am -5.00pm

Starting Salary £27,500 per annum. Plus the potential for a monthly performance related bonus. Employees also benefit from a company life assurance scheme and generous staff discount.

Ideal Candidates will have

Proven experience in retail is essential ideally from a fashion background.
Strong sales skills with a track record of achieving targets.
Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customers.
Proficient in customer service practices.
Ability to supervise effectively while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills to engage with customers and staff alike.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
