Full job description

We are a friendly, independent garage looking for a reliable Vehicle Technician to join our small team. You'll be working alongside 2 experienced colleagues in a well-equipped workshop with 3 ramps, servicing and repairing all makes and models of cars. Romanian-speaking colleagues — perfect environment for Romanian technicians who would like to work in the UK or settle in more easily.

We do NOT carry out MOT testing — our focus is on servicing, diagnostics and general repairs.

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues
Perform servicing and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and exhaust systems
Use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
Replace worn or damaged parts to manufacturer standards
Test drive vehicles after repair to confirm work has been carried out correctly
Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
Follow all health and safety regulations in the workshop

Requirements

Previous experience as a vehicle technician / mechanic (preferred)
Good knowledge of car mechanics, diagnostics and general repairs
Proficient with hand tools, power tools and basic diagnostic equipment
Full UK driving licence (Category B) required for road testing
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
Able to work as part of a small, friendly team
Basic English communication skills (Romanian also spoken on site — helpful but not required)
Relevant automotive qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential

Working hours

Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:30
Saturday: 08:30 – 15:30 (optional, paid extra)
Sunday: closed
