AutoCAD Draughtsman / DraughtswomanOverview
We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Draughtsman / Draughtswoman to join our design team. The role will mainly involve working on commercial restaurant, café, retail, and hospitality fit-out projects, producing accurate technical drawings and design documentation from concept through to construction stage.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD, technical drawing, construction documentation, and CAD-based design, with additional experience in SketchUp being highly desirable.
This is a paid position and is suitable for someone passionate about architecture, interior design, construction, hospitality design, and technical detailing.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Producing detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD
- Preparing drawing packages for commercial restaurants, cafés, retail units, and hospitality fit-outs
- Creating and updating floor plans, elevations, sections, details, RCPs, lighting layouts, electrical layouts, and service coordination drawings
- Supporting the design development of front-of-house, back-of-house, counters, kitchens, seating areas, joinery, signage, and general fit-out elements
- Using SketchUp for modelling, massing, and visualisation tasks
- Working closely with architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and project managers
- Revising existing drawings based on feedback, site surveys, landlord comments, client changes, or updated specifications
- Assisting with presentation materials and simple graphic layouts where required
- Ensuring drawings are accurate, well-organised, buildable, and suitable for construction and coordination purposes
- Maintaining organised digital files, drawing registers, and version control
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Good knowledge of SketchUp
- Experience preparing technical drawings for restaurant, café, retail, hospitality, or commercial fit-out projects
- Ability to produce clear plans, elevations, sections, details, RCPs, and construction drawing packages
- Understanding of interior fit-out, joinery, furniture layouts, finishes, lighting, electrical coordination, and basic building services
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage drawing files properly
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a design and construction team
- Good understanding of drawing standards, layers, plotting, PDF issue sheets, and file management
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen layouts, HVAC, fire strategy, accessibility, signage, planning drawings, or building regulations would be an advantage

Pay: From £120.00 per week
