Overview

Join our healthcare team as a Decontamination Nurse, a vital role dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for the thorough cleaning, sterilisation, and preparation of medical instruments and equipment, supporting clinical teams in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help maintain a safe environment by adhering to strict decontamination protocols and infection prevention guidelines. This paid role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to patient safety and healthcare excellence.

Full training can be given to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed cleaning, sterilisation, and packaging of dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols
Ensure all decontamination processes comply with health and safety regulations and infection control standards
Maintain accurate records of sterilisation cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels
Collaborate closely with clinical staff to facilitate the timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures
Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or deviations from standard procedures promptly
Follow strict hygiene practices to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment
Assist in training new team members on decontamination procedures and best practices

Requirements

Strong understanding of sterilisation techniques, infection control standards, and decontamination protocols
Excellent communication skills in English to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams
Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping, inventory management, and reporting purposes
Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight schedules
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks safely
Relevant certifications in nursing or healthcare are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Please note Hepatitis B injections will be needed, this is arranged by us.
