Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and creative Part Time Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a flair for artistic cake decoration, and experience in food preparation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft beautiful cakes and contribute to special celebrations, ensuring each creation meets our high standards of quality and presentation. The position is perfect for individuals with a background in culinary arts or bakery work who enjoy working in a vibrant, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications and company standards
Prepare cake components, including icing, fondant, and decorative elements
Assist in the preparation of baked goods and other food items as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the decorating station and work area
Ensure all decorations are applied accurately and efficiently, meeting deadlines for orders
Follow food safety protocols at all times during food production and decoration processes
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during busy periods
Keep up-to-date with current cake decorating trends and techniques to enhance product offerings

Experience

Previous experience in food production, especially cake decorating or bakery work, is highly desirable
Knowledge of food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques
Experience working in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Skills in using decorating tools such as piping bags, fondant cutters, and airbrushing equipment are preferred
