Full job description

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Accounts Payable Administrator is a role responsible for managing complex Accounts, resolving escalated issues, and supporting the effective day‑to‑day running of the Accounts Payable function and the team leader.

Reporting to a Team Leader, the role acts as a senior point of support within the team, providing technical experience, helping ensure controls are followed, and supporting accurate and timely delivery.

The role will deputise for the team leader in their absence for line management responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to completing their core admin duties as part of the team. Key responsibilities will be :

Team Support

1st point of escalation for the team
Undertaking complex enquiries.
Provide day‑to‑day guidance and informal support to Accounts Payable Administrators.
Support training and onboarding of new team members.
Share good practice and encourage consistent ways of working.
Support the Team Leader with agreed tasks or cover when required.

Note: This role description is not exhaustive and may evolve in line with business needs and operational requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong experience within an Accounts Payable or finance operations role.
Proven ability to handle complex processing, discrepancies, and escalated queries.
Solid understanding of Purchase‑to‑Pay processes and Accounts Payable controls.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using ERP or Accounts Payable systems.

Desirable

Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
Exposure to shared service or service‑hub environments.
Knowledge of Proactis or similar procurement/AP platforms.
Property or facilities management sector experience.
Knowledge of property sector.

Working Hours - 9am – 5.30pm
