Salary - Scale D, £13.47–£13.69 per hour
Fixed term initially until 31 August 2027, with the likelihood of extension
Part Time
33 hours per week (M-F)
Term time plus 1 week

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and caring individual to primarily work alongside children in our new Nurture class, supporting pupils with complex needs within our mainstream setting. This role requires patience, positivity, creativity and flexibility, along with a commitment to providing the very best education for our children. Although the role will primarily be based within the Nurture provision, the successful candidate may also be required to support pupils transitioning back into class, or to provide support within other classes across the school, depending on need.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience and knowledge of supporting children with additional needs and an understanding of the impact of trauma
Is calm, patient and nurturing, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with children
Can support children’s emotional regulation, communication and social development
Understands the importance of routine, consistency and emotional wellbeing in helping children to succeed
Is flexible, resilient and able to adapt support to meet individual needs
Works well as part of a team, is reflective in their practice and is committed to ongoing professional development

This post comes under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009, and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check. If you have information to declare, it may be protected under the Exceptions Order and you may not be required to declare it. If shortlisted, you will be asked to complete a criminal conviction declaration. Guidance on whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
