Job Title: Accountant
Location: Bedfordshire/ Hybrid]
Salary: £36,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week, flexible working available)

About Us
We are a growing and dynamic accountancy practice committed to delivering high-quality, timely, and personable services to a wide range of clients. Our client base includes limited companies, sole traders, and high net worth individuals across various sectors.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a flexible, hybrid role suited to someone who can confidently manage core compliance work and support a varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Preparation and submission of CIS returns
Assisting with payroll processing
Bookkeeping and maintenance of accurate financial records
Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for:
High net worth individuals
Directors of limited companies
Sole traders
Liaising with clients to gather information and provide support
Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House deadlines

Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
Proven experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
Strong working knowledge of VAT, CIS, payroll, and bookkeeping
Experience completing Self-Assessments for a range of client types, including high net worth individuals
AAT Level 4 qualified (essential)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication and client-facing abilities
Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines

Desirable

Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
Experience managing a client portfolio
