Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time
Salary: £40K depending on experience
About Fleet Assist
Fleet Assist are the UK’s leading supply chain management specialist of service, maintenance and repair services to the fleet industry. We are also a rapidly growing provider of rental vehicles for our customers and due to our expansion have a requirement for a full time Credit Manager reporting to the CFO.
What You Will Do
As our Credit manager, your responsibilities will include:
Customer Onboarding and management
- Review and approve new customer applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete.
- Calculate and assign appropriate credit limits based on risk assessment and business criteria.
- Drive continuous improvement of the onboarding process and credit‑limit methodology.
- Conduct regular reviews of existing credit lines and payment behaviour.
- Identify early‑warning indicators and make recommendations for adjustments to major credit limits.
- Prepare weekly reports for the Directors, including key credit insights and risk commentary.
Debt Management & other Support
- Perform frequent reviews of aged debtors, supporting recovery efforts where required.
- Provide recommendations to Directors regarding potential vehicle collection or account escalation.
- Oversee and authorise the defleet process, ensuring accurate billing and timely collection.
- Support finance projects and process improvements as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in credit management.
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, data analysis).
- Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers and senior stakeholders.
- A hands‑on, proactive approach with willingness to support wider team activity.
Desirable
- Accounting or Finance qualification such as ACCA, or currently studying towards one.
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting/analytics tools.
- Understanding of IFRS 9 provisioning and credit‑risk framework.
