Chef Vacancy – Community Café

We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Chef / Cook to join our friendly community café team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating fresh, high-quality food in a welcoming environment that serves the local community.

Position Details

Role: Chef / Cook
Hours: 30+ hours per week
Schedule: 5 days out of 7

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

Minimum 3 years of experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes.
Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willing to work towards)
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and daily kitchen operations, following HACCP regulations.
Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
Able to work under pressure and handle a fast-paced environment.
Outgoing & Motivated with a Can-Do attitude
Fluent in English (Spoken & Written)

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
Assist in training new staff members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and minimise waste
Provide excellent service by supporting serving staff when necessary and ensuring customer satisfaction
