Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and dedicated Kitchen Staff to join our team. The successful candidates will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food service industry. Candidates with a passion for cooking, catering, and food safety are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation, ensuring consistency and quality standards are met
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to specifications
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
Follow food safety procedures and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Serve food to customers or guests in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment of supplies
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Clean kitchen equipment and utensils.
Dispose of waste correctly. Report maintenance issues or damaged equipment.
Assist with catering and event preparation when required.
Prepare customer orders for dispatch.
Ensure orders are packed correctly and securely.
Assist with the preparation of ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning. Prepare ingredients for Afri Aroma products including soups, rice meals, small chops, sauces, and frozen food products.
Support batch cooking activities under supervision.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or kitchen environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
