Full job description

Join one of the world’s leading high-performance engineering companies and play a key role in manufacturing precision engine components for some of the world’s most prestigious supercar, hypercar and motorsport programmes.

As a CNC Grinder, you will produce high-precision crankshafts, camshafts and other critical engine components, working to exacting standards and micron-level tolerances. You will be responsible for setting and operating a range of CNC and manual grinding machines, ensuring every component meets our uncompromising quality standards.

Working within a highly skilled manufacturing team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational excellence.

The Role

Set and operate CNC and manual cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
Manufacture precision crankshafts, camshafts and other engine components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Produce components efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Carry out in-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment, including gauges, Perthometer and Adcole systems.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.
Set up work holding, mount and dress grinding wheels to achieve optimum machining performance.
Identify, report and resolve machining or production issues in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering to achieve production objectives.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing methods, tooling and processes.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Consider the health, safety, environmental and energy impacts of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by adhering to company policies and best practice.

Candidate Profile

Essential

Experience setting and operating CNC and/or manual grinding machines.
Experience within precision engineering, automotive, aerospace, motorsport or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of precision machining techniques and quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault finding.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Desirable

Experience operating Junker and/or Kellenberg grinding machines.
Experience of cylindrical and surface grinding.
Knowledge of work holding methods, wheel mounting and wheel dressing.
Experience using precision inspection equipment, including Adcole and Perthometer measuring systems.
Understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and precision measurement techniques.

Monday - Thursday: 06:00 to 14:00

Friday - 06:00 to 13:00

Week 2

Monday - Thursday: 14:00 to 22:00

Friday - 13:00 to 20:00
