Canteen Manager

Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire
Salary: Competitive – Dependent on Experience
Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (28 hours per week)

About the Role

Colis engineering Ltd is looking for an organised and enthusiastic Canteen Manager to run our busy company canteen.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for preparing and serving fresh meals, planning menus, maintaining high food hygiene standards and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the canteen. You'll also supervise and support our Canteen Assistant, helping to deliver an excellent service for our employees.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 2:30 pm
Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operation of the company canteen.
Supervise and support the Canteen Assistant.
Plan, prepare and serve a varied range of fresh, nutritious meals.
Occasionally prepare buffets for company meetings and events.
Order food and kitchen supplies while managing stock levels and reducing waste.
Source quality products from suppliers.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation and maintain the Company's Food Hygiene Rating.
Record food temperatures and ensure food is stored safely.
Process cash transactions and maintain accurate canteen records.

About You

You'll have:

Previous experience in a catering, café, canteen or kitchen management role.
A Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.
Knowledge of UK food allergen regulations.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while supporting and supervising one team member.
A friendly, customer-focused approach.
