Build Work That Actually Matters

Jute Construction is not your typical building company.

We specialise in the restoration of historic and period properties — from listed buildings and country homes to unique one-off projects that require skill, care, and proper craftsmanship.

Our work is varied, hands-on, and often technically challenging. One week you might be repairing original lime plaster, the next working on stonework, structural repairs, or bespoke joinery — always with a focus on doing the job properly, not just quickly.

The Role

We’re looking for a capable, all-round builder who can take a lead role on-site, stay hands-on, and help build a strong, like-minded team that takes pride in doing things properly.

You’ll be trusted to run jobs day-to-day, coordinate trades, and maintain standards — not micromanaged.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading day-to-day site activity on diverse heritage projects
Ensuring Health & Safety and site organisation are maintained
Working across a range of trades to deliver a high-quality finish
Interpreting drawings and solving on-site challenges
Communicating with staff and subcontractors professionally
Contributing to a tidy, efficient, and well-run site
Helping build and work alongside a strong, like-minded team

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience as a multi-skilled / all-round builder
Ability to take ownership and lead on-site when needed
Good eye for detail and quality
Reliable, organised, and proactive
Full UK driving licence

Bonus:

Experience with heritage or restoration work
Knowledge of lime, traditional materials, or period construction
