Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Automated Gate & CCTV Engineer to join our dynamic team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills in security systems, electrical and mechanical installation, and system design. Duties
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and servicing of automated gates, CCTV cameras, and related security systems.
- Support the interpretation of schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble and install hardware components.
- Conduct basic electrical work including wiring connections, testing circuits, and troubleshooting system faults.
- Assist with the integration of computer networking components within security systems.
- Support the setup of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and telecommunication links for remote monitoring.
- Participate in site surveys to assess construction requirements and plan installation procedures.
- Follow health and safety protocols during all phases of work to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware or networking is advantageous but not essential.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with power tools and construction activities is desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, system design principles, or electrical systems will be beneficial.
- Candidates should possess good organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards learning.
- An interest in telecommunication systems, CCTV technology, or IDS is highly valued. This role provides a unique pathway into the security engineering industry through hands-on experience and professional development opportunities.
