Position: Customs & Trade Agent - Part Time - Experience Neccessary

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our friendly team at our Stallingborough branch. As a Customs Agent, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the clearance and movement of goods, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and supporting the efficient flow of international trade.

16 - 24 Hours Per week - Monday & Friday (Flexible hours)

We are open to a trainee with no experience, or a candidate with existing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct customs clearance procedures for goods entering or leaving the country, including verifying documentation, assessing duties and taxes, and preparing and submitting customs declarations

- Act as a liaison between clients, carriers, and customs authorities to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods

- Review and audit import and export documentation to ensure compliance with customs regulations and requirements

- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with shipments, working closely with relevant parties to find solutions

- Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and procedures, and provide guidance to clients on any necessary adjustments to their processes or documentation

- Collaborate with colleagues and management to continuously improve our customs clearance processes and provide exceptional service to our clients

- Maintain accurate and organized records of all customs clearance transactions and documentation

- Handle any additional tasks or projects as assigned by management related to customs clearance activities

Qualifications and Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review and analyze documentation

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, customs authorities, and colleagues

- Proficiency in using computer software such as Microsoft excel

- Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changes in customs regulations and procedures
