The role
The primary role of the Senior Data Analyst is to assist the firms Data Architect. The role can be based at any of our offices, although travel may be required at times to other Saffery offices as the business required. The postholder will report to the Data Architect.
The role will be responsible for analysing requests for improvements in data-related processes, supporting the Data Architect to challenge these requests and propose workable solutions whilst always adhering to the firm’s data standards and data governance policy. The job holder will be required to act in an advisory capacity to other areas of the business on managing data and process changes, reviewing processes with the stakeholders. They will be required to assist with the data management aspects of strategic projects and assisting with integrations and advising on data processes for projects.
The job holder will be required to build wireframe solutions, manage data warehouse structures and maintain internal databases where external solutions are not available.

The responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret request for improvements in data related processes, and data change requests, discussing these with senior colleagues where necessary. Be able to identify the business impact of the requests, advising on change management and identify where larger scale project management may be required.
- Provide high level advisory on business processes and data management.
- Defining the mapping and synchronisation of shared reference data across systems.
- Provide solutions and proposals to assist with data integrations.
- Develop and maintain data quality dashboards and create and maintain data dictionary for all Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
- Work with stakeholders to analyse data, provide reporting solutions and identify root causes of dysfunction in processes and providing advice on remediation.
- Contribute to the design of data models for use by Business Intelligence and reporting tool and reuse in the Enterprise landscape.
- Actively promote the firm’s Data Standards and Data Governance Policy.
- Contribute to the design of processes.
- Participate in cross-functional programme workstreams.
- Design and develop data transformation and loading processes for the population and on-going management of the data models and architecture.
- Look for opportunities for continuous improvement in data capture processes and integration.
- Monitor data quality reports and liaise with data owners to agree remedial action.
- Document data lifecycles and how they relate to business processes.
- Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Create and develop wireframe solutions.
- Create and maintain database solutions using Microsoft Power Platform Tools/SQL databases.
- Introduce and maintain data quality tools.
You
- A motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, and who understands the value of data and is passionate about accuracy.
- Experience in analysing data, processes, data quality stats, root cause analysis. Able to challenge where necessary.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills with strong project management skills.
- Experience and understanding of the basic operating model of an accountancy/law practice eg Client, Matter and Time Recording is desirable.

Qualifications
- Completion of A level studies is essential.
- Degree level education is desirable.
- At least two years’ experience of working in a professional services environment, ideally accountancy or legal sectors.
- Experience of working on large scale projects and project management.
- Experience of working on Data Quality, Remediation and Data Management programmes.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Power Platform suite with the ability to generate applications for internal use.
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
- Experience of working with Microsoft Fabric, pipelines, dataflows and pySpark.
- Must be proficient in the use of SQL. With advanced T-SQL skills, and familiar with functions, stored procedures, and SQL agent jobs.
- Must be able to develop Power BI reports.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Teams.
- Experience of Elite3E, MS Teams, SmartSheets, and Data Management tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview would be an advantage.
