About Us:

Fen Farm is a well-established, family-run artisan cheese company based in Bungay, Suffolk, dedicated to producing high-quality cheeses with locally sourced ingredients. Our commitment to traditional methods and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking a Retail Assistant who can deliver exceptional customer service and support the day-to-day operations of our farm shop in Eye, including the presentation and sale of fresh, locally produced goods. The Retail Assistant will help create a welcoming environment for customers, maintain product displays, and ensure the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful service to all customers.
Operate the till system and handle cash, card, and other transactions accurately.
Restock shelves and ensure displays are well-presented and attractively merchandised.
Assist with receiving and checking deliveries of farm produce and other stock.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shop.
Monitor stock levels and alert the Retail Manager of low or out-of-stock items.
Comply with health and safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
Represent the farm’s values of sustainability, quality, and local sourcing.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Excellent customer service and communication skills
Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic attitude
Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
Ability to work under pressure during busy periods
Keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining high shop standards

Experience Required:

Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience (preferred but not essential)
Full training will be provided

Working Hours:

Saturday working 7:15 am until 6:15 pm
An additional shift in the week flexible with notice

Benefits:

Discounted Food Items: You will receive a 40% discount on all Fen Farm Dairy products and a 15% discount on all non-Fen Farm Dairy products.
Free Milk: The company provides 4 litres of free Fen Farm Dairy milk to staff each week.
