Job Summary
Here at The Selwyn Hotel, Richmond, we are seeking a friendly and dedicated Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and excellent customer service skills. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our food and beverage services, ensuring guests have a memorable experience. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a vibrant team environment.

Duties

Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, counters, and service stations
Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction
Support baristas with drink preparation when necessary
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Replenish stock levels and assist with inventory management
Provide excellent customer service by attending to guest needs promptly and courteously
Support catering events by setting up, serving, and clearing tables as required

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for motivated candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Experience in restaurant or barista roles is a plus
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
A genuine interest in food, beverages, and delivering exceptional customer service
Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings if required
