Goods In Manager

Fresh Produce Distribution | Permanent, Nights, Full-Time

Location: New Covent Garden Market

Do you have a sharp eye and a passion for getting things right first time?

Rushtons is a well-established fresh produce distributor, and we're looking for a Goods In Manager to lead our intake operation. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our warehouse — you'll be the first person our produce meets when it arrives on site, and the standard you set matters.

If you know your way around a goods in operation, understand the importance of temperature compliance and quality checks in fresh produce, and can lead a team with confidence, we'd love to hear from you.

What the role involves

Leading all goods in activity — receiving, checking, and booking in fresh produce deliveries
Checking incoming stock against purchase orders for quantity, quality, temperature, and condition
Managing rejections and supplier returns, and keeping records accurate and up to date
Coordinating inbound delivery schedules to keep things running smoothly
Managing safe unloading operations using MHE
Leading and organising your goods in team across shifts
Keeping the goods in area clean, safe, and audit-ready at all times

What we're looking for

Solid goods in or intake experience, ideally in fresh produce, food distribution, or a similar chilled/ambient environment
Experience supervising or leading a small team
A good understanding of food safety and cold chain requirements
Strong attention to detail — you notice what others miss
A practical, get-things-done attitude
Good communication skills for dealing with hauliers, suppliers, and colleagues
