Customer Service Advisor (Contact Centre)

Location: Newcastle city centre | Pay: £13 per hour plus monthly bonus | Hours: 9am to 6pm, full time | Immediate start available

Join a friendly contact centre team of 21 Customer Service Advisors right in the heart of Newcastle city centre, on £13 per hour with a monthly bonus based on customer satisfaction. This is a full time role with an immediate start, working 9am to 6pm with a full hour of paid break every shift. You will also have hybrid working, with the option to work from home twice a week or stay in the office full time if that suits you better.

About the role

As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the friendly voice on the end of the phone, helping customers with their questions and making sure they feel heard. It is a people-focused role where building rapport and solving problems matter more than following a rigid script.

What you will be doing

Answering inbound customer calls in a friendly and professional manner
Listening carefully to understand each customer's question, concern or problem
Investigating enquiries and working out the most suitable solution
Explaining information clearly and without unnecessary jargon
Taking ownership of enquiries and seeing them through to a proper resolution
Keeping customer records accurate and up to date after every interaction
Working alongside colleagues and other departments when extra support is needed
Helping the team keep customer satisfaction standards high

About you

Have excellent verbal communication skills and can chat naturally with all kinds of people
Enjoy listening to customers and getting to the bottom of their concerns
Like investigating problems and finding practical solutions
Can adapt your style to relate to people from different backgrounds
Know how to turn a difficult conversation into a positive outcome
Stay patient, helpful and composed when a customer is frustrated
Want every customer to come away feeling supported and looked after

Previous contact centre or call centre experience is welcome but not essential. If you have transferable experience from retail, hospitality, administration, sales, reception or any other people-focused role, you could be a great fit.
