Upholstery Cutter & Pattern Maker

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £14.00 – £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role

One Contracts Ltd is seeking an experienced Cutter & Pattern Maker to join our Upholstery Department. We manufacture high-quality bespoke furniture for a wide range of commercial environments, including offices, restaurants, hotels, and hospitality venues.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the production process, creating accurate patterns and cutting materials to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained throughout manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Creating patterns from drawings, templates, and finished furniture frames.
Measuring and calculating material requirements accurately.
Cutting fabrics, leather, vinyl, foam, and other upholstery materials.
Producing patterns for both new and existing furniture designs.
Working closely with upholsterers and production teams to ensure accuracy and quality.
Minimising material waste through efficient planning and cutting techniques.
Identifying and resolving pattern or material issues before production.
Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient work area.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' experience in upholstery cutting and pattern making.
Experience within commercial or contract furniture manufacturing preferred.
Strong understanding of upholstery construction methods.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good mathematical and measuring skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

Overtime opportunities are available during mornings, evenings, and weekends.
