Roof Repair & Maintenance Engineer

Bedford | Full-time | £35,000 - £40,000 pa + Bonus + Benefits

Employee Benefits:

Team performance bonus £2 to £3K OTE per annum

Working hours (40-hour week, full-time, Monday to Friday)

Building Transformation are a niche external building fabric access and maintenance company based in Bedford, working predominantly in the Southeast. We are looking for an experienced Roof Repair & Maintenance Engineer with experience of planned and reactive roofing works across a range of systems, including flat, felt, single-ply, and pitched roofs.

Your role at a glance:

This is a hands-on role where you’ll deliver high-quality roof maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a range of client sites.

You will:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a variety of roofing systems.
Diagnose and resolve roofing defects, leaks, and failures effectively.
Undertake roof inspections and condition surveys, recording findings clearly.
Complete general repairs including patching, sealing, flashing, and minor refurbishments.
Work safely at height using appropriate access equipment and in line with health & safety standards.
Communicate professionally with clients on-site, providing clear updates on work carried out.
Identify and report additional defects or opportunities for further works.
Maintain accurate job records, reports, and completion documentation.
Work closely with internal teams to support service delivery and follow-on work.

You will be someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and represents the business professionally on-site.

Strong practical experience in roofing maintenance and repair.
The ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective, long-lasting repairs.
Experience working safely at height and following health & safety procedures.
Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage with clients on-site.
A customer-focused approach and commitment to high standards.
Strong attention to detail in both work and reporting.
The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
A flexible, proactive approach to reactive and planned work.

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience across multiple roofing systems (flat, pitched, single-ply, etc.)
Relevant health & safety or access certifications (e.g. Working at Height, PASMA, IPAF)

Just as important is your attitude. You will be dependable, solutions-focused, and take real ownership of your work.
